What is a supplementary card?
A supplementary card is a second card on your account for someone you choose, such as a partner, parent or child. It carries their name, but the account and the bill are yours.
Why add a cardholder
Spend on both cards earns points or cashback into one balance, so you reach a reward sooner. You also see the household's spend on one statement, and on these cards the supplementary card costs nothing.
Things to consider
You are responsible for everything a supplementary cardholder spends. Some banks let you set a lower spending limit for each supplementary card. Check whether caps on bonus rates are shared across both cards.
